Video is now available!

Well, the day has finally arrived to be able to watch the video! It looks like we have 3 people in NC (Tami, Kelley & Christine) 1 in AR (Debbie) and 3 in MI (Debbie, Julie and Taryn). Since we don't know each other I think it might be nice to post a little something about yourself so we can begin to "meet" each other.

I'll start.... I am married to Tom, mom to Will (married to Deb C's daughter Katrina), Chris (married to Aimee) and step-mom to Thom (married to Tonia, she had 3 children already when they married). I am originally from VA but lived in MI for 19 years (where I met Deb C, Taryn and Deb K). Moved to NC 5 years ago (the Kelley & Christine connection!) and love being back in the south (hooray for sweet tea!). While I have participated and led many studies I have never done an online Bible study before. I love gardening (I actually have flowers in my yard from Deb C), cooking, reading, traveling and crafting. Looking forward to learning what God has to tell me through the book of Hebrews.

Blessings to each of you!

  1. Hello ladies! Nice to meet all of you. Debbie C and I attended Bible study at our church a couple of years ago. Thanks for including me in this blog.

    I have been married to my husband Bill for 30 years. I have two daughters (29 and 27) and one son who is 23, I am also blessed with three grandsons! I work full time at my husband's construction company. Very challenging times. I am grateful that God is always by my side.

    We have a home in Palm Beach Gardens Florida that we had hoped we could retire to, but with the economy being as it is, that might not happen. However, for now I spend some time in Florida, mostly in the winter. I belong to a great ladies bible study there. We have about 25 women who attend every Tuesday morning. I know 25 sounds like a lot of women to keep controlled, but we have a wonderful leader.

    I will be looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing and learning God's Word.

  2. Hello! Tami and Tom actually were pre-marital counselors for my husband Gary and I...hence, the connection :o) Gary and I will be married for three years in September and are proud parents of Gracie the Cat...you know, the whole "make sure you can take care of houseplants and animals before having children" thing.

    Looking forward to getting to know you all!

  3. Hi Ladies;

    I am so excited about meeting and hearing from all of you during the "Sweeter than Chocolate! study. I will be married to Denny for 37 years in Sept. and we have three daughters and two wonderful sons by marriage. Two grand-dogs!

    Tami's oldest son is married to our 2nd daughter Katrina, so I have known the Freed's for a few years. Taryn, is the one who suggested we do this online study this summer. She is a friend from church,were Julie and I attend. Taryn, has since moved in the last year to Indiana and I miss her lots. One last person is Debbie K., who I meet when I moved to MI from WI, 18 years ago.

  4. Hi Ladies;
    From the video the question for the week is;
    Who's approval are you seeking?

    Wow, that is what I call a below the belt!

    Well, ladies I think I might have this blog and chat stuff down---well at least enough to find my way around.

  5. Rest with your eyes fixed on Jesus and finding His approval.

    Just a few personal thoughts, I think I would like some different colored highlighters to use. My book is so messy already!

    * How did you do with the pre-test on page 18, the major characters from the Bible you learned so far? Was there anything new to you? Who do you relate to?

    * Is your God activity more walking by faith or striving to please God in your own power?

    * Are you asking Him to help you walk more and more by faith?

  6. Hello everyone!
    I have been married to Paul for 21 years. We have two children Josh (19) and Kaitlyn (15). Julie, my parents live in West Palm Beach and I actually lived there myself for ten years. that is where me and my husband met. So I do know your stomping grounds there in Palm Beach Gardens very well!!

    I look forward to growing with all of you!
    Tami and I met Sunday and boy did we learn alot in the first chapter.

    What was revealed to us was about how Cain was warned by God, not to let sin Master him! Then the next verse he killed his brother! We never noticed that before. He was warned about the spiritual battle and choose in his own strength to ignore the warning! WOW!

    How often do we let the spiritual battle overwhelm us? Give up faith in God because the walk maybe difficult, we didn't get the acceptance we wanted from a certain person or things just didn't go our way?

    Good stuff!

  7. Wow, tough questions already in week one....
    While I'd like to say I only seek God's approval too often I seek man's approval first and hope God falls in line... just being honest here.

    Christine was right when she said that we both realized that Cain was told that he would be devoured by sin if he did not make the right choice - devoured.... a scary thought and condition we all want to avoid. And yet it is so easy to see how this happens to people still today. We forget to put our armor on and allow Satan's lies to draw us away from God's truth - and we get devoured. Early in the video Pam says we either live by true faith or slink back to destruction. I pray that we strive each day to live by true faith - AVOID being devoured!!

    We also saw that the big difference in the offerings the brothers brought was what I call the "Head/Heart" connection. Those ladies at Calvary might recall Jonathan saying the longest distance in the world is the 12 inches between the head and the heart - head knowledge says I'll give "whatever" and heart knowledge says God gets the first and the best.

    Blessings to you all, hope to hear from everyone else soon. Kelley and I are meeting tomorrow to talk over the lesson - more insight to come I'm sure!

  8. Wow, what a great kick off to our first week!

    Tami & Christine, I love your insight! Great thoughts and applications. Love gleaming from you!

    I joined a live chat room yesterday, Tuesday, with the STC2 group. The leader was really great at directing the questions and we flew through the lesson.

    If you want you can go to the belovedtruth.nigh.com and print out the notes from either chat groups.

    We started out with the key word from page 3--LOST and then moved on to key word in Hebrews 11- FAITH.

    Loving it and looking forward to our new lesson.

  9. It seems not much going on here. I hope that means that we are all spending time in the Word instead.

    I have been busy with the lose of my sister and a few health concerns of my own. But now I am back to this great study and catching up fast. I just got done with lesson 4 and hope to move on lesson 5 tomorrow morning. I love the lesson I learned about, God works through imperfect people. That gives me lost of hope.

    Blessings to all of you this week.
